Background

The Hasnur Sangai Puting Coal Terminal began operating in 2011. It has 5 jetties and can process 6,500 tonnes of coal per hour. PT Hasnur Internasional Shipping also operates the Hasnur Penbang Coal Terminal, which has capacity of 2,000 tonnes of coal per hour.[1]

In 2019, PT Hasnur Internasional Shipping handled 6.8 million tonnes of coal. Assuming that amount was divided between the two terminals based on capacity, the Hasnur Sangai Puting Coal Terminal would have handled about 5 million tonnes (~76%) in 2019.[2]

In 2021, PT Hasnur Internasional Shipping completed an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. The company sold 2.6 billion shares and raised IDR 788 billion (approximately US$55 million).[3] The company stated that it intended to use the capital raised to expand its coal transporting infrastructure, with 23% of the funds going toward its coal terminals.[2]
