Background

Huayin Zhuzhou power station includes two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 680 MW. The power station's first two units were commissioned in 1993-1994 and retired in 2008. In 2004, two operating units were completed. The power station was owned by China Datang.[2]

Expansion: Relocation units

In May 2019, plans for a 2 x 1,000 MW expansion at the power station were reported.[3]

The capacity was permitted in February 2022.[4][5] Construction was expected to start in July 2022,[6] but reportedly began on September 28, 2022.[7]
