Background

The Airvault cement plant is one of four plants apart of owner Heidelberg Material's country-wide Decarbonation Program. The modernization plans for the plant include replacement of the two existing semi-dry firing lines with a new dry firing line with a pre-calcinator. Additionally, the alternative fuel substitution rate will be increased to 88%. The goal of the project is to reduce specific CO emissions by 17%.
