Background

The terminal will have a capacity of 3 million tonnes per year (mtpa). The terminal could potentially be expanded by adding more LNG regasification trains and LNG storage to meet future demands in the East Java region.[1]

In 2017 it was reported that the project includes the conversion of an LNG carrier into a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), which will be permanently moored off the shore of East Java.[2]

There have been no development updates in over four years, and the project is presumed to be cancelled as of 2021.
