Background

Zhanjiang Baosteel power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant under construction with a total capacity of 700 MW in Guangdong Province. The plant is owned by China Baowu Steel Group. The project is scheduled to be commissioned in December 2014.[1][2]

Unit 1 began operating in 2014,[3] and unit 2 in 2015.[4] It is a captive cogeneration power plant , supplying heat and electricity to Baosteel Zhanjiang Manufacturing Base. [5]
