Background on Project
CPI is currently planning to build a coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 600 MW in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.[1] Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2015. The power plant would be subcritical, and fueled by lignite coal from the Baiyinhua coal mine in China.[2]
The power station was commissioned in 2017.[3][4]
Ownership
In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[5]
