Project-level coal details
Background
Xinyang power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,920 MW. The plant was completed between 2001 and 2009, and is owned by China Datang (51%), Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group (48%), and Henan Investment Group (1%).[3]
2022: New proposal
In August 2022, a related 2 x 1,000 MW project was identified as a key project in Henan Province to "accelerate" the infrastructure construction and "stabilize" the economy (河南省全面加快基础设施建设稳住经济大盘重点项目).[4] Datang Xinyang Power Generation Co., Ltd. owns these two new units.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was up for public review in October 2022.[5]
