Background

The four existing coal-fired units of Xutang power station, totaling 1,200 MW, were brought online between 2001 and 2004. The plant is owned by China Datang.[1][2]

Description of Expansion

Datang is currently planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.[3]

However, with no developments since May 2015, the project appears to be cancelled.
