Dioriga FSRU is a proposed floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) terminal for LNG import in Greece.

Background

In June 2021, Greek grid gas operator DESFA and Dioriga Gas signed an agreement for the FSRU project in the Gulf of Corinth, Greece. Dioriga Gas aims to have the terminal operational in 2023. The terminal is proposed to have storage capacity of 210,000 cubic meters, regasification capacity of 132,000 MWhs per day, and would cost a minimum of €300 million. The final investment decision (FID) is expected towards the end of 2022.

In May 2022, Motor Oil said that a memorandum of understanding had been signed with UAE's Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (Adnoc) "to explore potential opportunities of active collaboration in the upcoming FSRU terminal of Dioriga Gas," including the supply of LNG cargoes. The company did not provide additional information.

As of November 2022, the project's FID was expected in Q4 2022.

In January 2023, Greece's Ministry of Development and Investment announced that the Interministerial Committee for Strategic Investments had approved the project.

Motor Oil has suggested that the project could be "hydrogen-ready."
