Background

The Eldev Coal Mine is an operating surface coal mine in Dornogovi Province, Mongolia. Eldev coal mine is located 330 kilometers southeast of Ulaanbaatar city, 40 km southeast of Choir railway station, and 21 km east of Olon Ovoot station (Trans Mongolian railway).[2][3] It is a 500,000 tonnes per annum coal mine, owned and operated by the Mongolyn Alt Corporation (MAK Corporation).
