Franco-Belgian H2 Corridor is a proposed gas pipeline system between France and Belgium.[1][2]

Location

The project features two major interconnectors between France and Germany, notably the WHHYN and DHUNE pipelines, along with additional extensions to Paris and Nancy in France.

Background

This project is listed in ENTSOG's Ten-Year Network Development plan as a hydrogen-ready pipeline.[7] GRTgaz has launched an “Open Season” from 16 June to 16 September 2022 to confirm the economic interest in setting up a transport infrastructure between Valenciennes in France and Mons in Belgium, in collaboration with Fluxys.[10] It is also part of the European Hydrogen Backbone.[3]

The segment between Valenciennes and Mons was proposed to carry hydrogen for the PCI 6 list as part of a Franco-Belgian H2 Corridor. The route for the project is derived from the H2inframap, which displays a collection of hydrogen-related projects across Europe.
