There have been no development updates in over two years and the project was presumed shelved as of 2022.
However, in May 2024, a senior representative from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) visited the GasPort FSRU terminal, and the tour also included a visit to the site selected for the GasPort FSRU 2 terminal which is still mentioned as being under development by the company. As of May 2024, it was reported that almost all approvals have been obtained and all site-specific studies for this terminal have been completed.[2]
