Background

The two existing coal-fired units of Gucheng power station, totaling 640 MW, were brought online in 2006. The plant is owned by China Resources.

Description of Expansion

China Resources was planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.[1]

However, with no updates since 2012, the project appears to be abandoned.
