Background

The plant's first four units, totaling 680 MW, were commissioned from 1984 to 1992 and retired from 2009 to 2014. Units 5-6 of 350 MW each were commissioned in 2002 to 2003. Unit 7 (660 MW) was completed in 2012; a unit 8 (660 MW) was planned with it but never materialized. The plant was originally owned by China Guodian.[1][2][3]
