Background on Project

The Huaibei Linshan power station is a four-unit, subcritical waste coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,260 MW, owned by Huaibei Coal Mining Group and Wenergy Group. Units 1-2 of 300 MW each were built in 2008.[1]

Units 3-4 of 330 MW each were commissioned in 2013.[2] Although the units began operating in 2013, they did not receive provincial DRC permits until January 2015.[3]

Proposed expansion

Huaibei Mining Group is planning an additional 2 units as the third phase, units 5-6 totaling 1320MW of capacity. The units were proposed in 2013.[4]

The expansion was listed in the Anhui Province Power Development 13th 5-Year Plan as a back-up project.[5]

As of December 2019 there has been no progress on the units, and they appear to be abandoned.
