Background on Project
According to WRI's 2012 "Coal Risk Assessment" study, Beijing Huawei Hetian Investment and Zhongmu Company are currently planning to build a coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.[1] However, since no further reports can be found of this plant, it appears that the project has been shelved or abandoned.
