There have been no development updates in over two years, and the project is presumed to be shelved as of 2021. The plan is still listed as part of Total's projects, who note that they have completed EEI's and EIA's in accordance with Myanmar's environmental laws.[2]
Following the coup in 2021, TotalEnergies SE withdrew from Myanmar in 2022, allegedly leaving its shares to other partners.[3][4] There are no definitive updates on the project since 2019, and it is presumed to be cancelled.
