Background

As of July 2023, the mine was said to be operating.

As of December 2024, it appeared that the mine was not operating due to shortage of staff as the majority were mobilized for the war against Ukraine. Some investors were allegedly interested in Kholodnaya Balka mine, but there is no one to work at them.

The was no other news on the mine's activities and it was therefore presumed mothballed.
