Background

Mandalong coal mine is an underground mine, owned and operated by Centennial Mandalong Pty Limited, a subsidiary of Centennial Coal, in the Lake Macquarie area, New South Wales, Australia.[9]

The mine provides coal to the Vales Point power station and Eraring power station.[10] The mine is operated by Centennial Mandalong Pty Limited, a subsidiary of Centennial Coal. In an October 2009 environmental assessment on upgrading options for the Munmorah power station, Delta Electricity stated that the Mandalong coal mine currently supplies coal for the plant.[11] In 2016, it was temporarily put on care and maintenance.
