Background

The Mannersdorf plant is the oldest cement plant in Austria. Over its tenure, the plant has undergone a number of improvements in pursuit of modernization. Efforts include a fuel substitution rate of over 90% using non-recyclable waste, as well as the construction of a 15MW photovoltaic array. The plant has a C2PAT+ carbon capture project planned for implementation in 2030, and has the goal of obtaining 100% renewable energy use by 2030 as well.
