Background

The original seven existing coal-fired units of Nanshan Tokai power station had a total capacity of 1,730 MW. The first two units were 150 MW each and commissioned in 2003. Units 3 and 4 were 220 MW each and commissioned in 2006-7. Units 5-7 were 330 MW each and commissioned in 2010-2011. The plant was owned by Nanshan Group.[1][2][3]

In January 2023, the province issued a notice about 2022 retirements. Nanshan Aluminum Donghai power station's 220 MW Unit 4 was retired.[4]
