Background on Project
CPI is currently planning to build a coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.[1]
However, there have been no developments on the project since 2011,[2] and it appears to be shelved or abandoned.
Ownership
In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[3]
