The Ohio County Mine, formerly known as the Shoemaker Mine, is an underground coal mine, operated by Ohio County Coal Company, a subsidiary of Murray Energy Corporation, producing 6.5 million short tons per annum, in Wheeling, West Virginia, United States. The mine was idled for all of 2007, but put back into production in 2008.[4]
