Background

The Anugerah Bara Kaltim coal mines (ABK) are an opencast mine complex, operated by PT Anugerah Bara Kaltim, with a capacity of 6 million tonnes-per-annum (MTPA) in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.[3]

The mines consist of 3 coal pits: Multi Sarana Avindo (MSA, Welarco Subur Jaya (WSJ), and Gerbang Daya Mandiri (GDM). PT Anugerah Bara Kaltim operates the ABK mines.


In 2021, the WSJ coal mine produced 3.292 million tonnes and GDM coal mine produced 0.433 million tonnes.
