Adhunik Metaliks Kuanrmunda steel plant, also known as Neepaz Metaliks Pvt Ltd (formerly), AML, is a steel plant in Kuanrmunda, Chadrihariharpur, Sundergarh, Odisha, India that operates blast furnace (BF), direct reduced iron (DRI), and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

Adhunik Metaliks Limited was incorporated as Neepaz Metaliks Private Limited on 20th November 2001 under the Companies Act, 1956. The Company subsequently became a  public limited company and received a fresh certificate of incorporation in the name of Neepaz Metaliks Limited with effect from 25th March, 2004. The name of the Company was further changed to Adhunik Metaliks Limited with effect from 9th August 2005.[1]

The company is a part of the Adhunik Group, having a larger presence in Eastern India and having manufacturing facilities in the states of West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Meghalaya. The company was incorporated in the year 2001 and started operations in the year 2003.[1]

In February 2020, Adhunik Metaliks Limited was acquired by UK-based Liberty House Group via insolvency process.[2] The plant had been defunct for a certain time during this period and was restarted operations in October 2020 restoring 1500 jobs.[3]
