Background
Afam V power station is one of the four Afam gas plants in Rivers State, including Afam (FPL) power station (360 MW), Afam IV power station (276 MW), and Afam VI power station (650 MW).
Afam IV power station and Afam V power station are owned by Transcorp Power Limited and have a total generation capacity of 726 MW. Afam IV was commissioned in 1982, while the Afam V plant was commissioned in 2002.[8]
