Background
The power station started operating in 1941 with the capacity of 40 MW.[9]
The CCGT unit with a capacity of 115 MW at the Aleksinsky CHPP consists of two gas turbine units SGT-800 from Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB with a capacity of 45 MW, a steam turbine generator unit SST-400 from Siemens, Industrial Turbomachinery Siemens with a capacity of 38.5 MW, two boilers - heat recovery units PK-83 of Podolsky Machine-Building Plant OJSC, three booster compressor stations and a gas purification unit from Eltacon.[10]
The CCGT unit was commissioned in February 2019.
