Background
In 2022, Ambuja Cements announced its plan to expand the capacity of Maratha Cement Works from 2.85 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 6.15 mtpa of clinker capcity and 4.75 mtpa to 10 mtpa of cement capacity.[1] The proposal involves installation of Line-II with clinker capacity of 3.3 mtpa and cement capacity of 5.25 mtpa.[2]
