Background
In September 2020, Turkish maritime infrastructure provider Karpowership brought the world's first LNG-to-Power floating project into operation offshore Amurang, North Sulawesi in Indonesia. LNG is converted from liquid to gas via a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) in the powership, which is then used to fuel the the ship's 125-megawatt power plant.[1][4]
The 2024 GIIGNL report states that no vessel is currently chartered at the project site.[2]
