Background

The power station is owned and operated by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut, a government owned utility.[1]

The plant is adjacent to Lanco's Anpara-C power station, a 1200 MW coal-fired power station comprising two subcritical units of 600 MW each, completed in 2011.[2] The plant is also located near Anpara-D power station, a 1000 MW coal-fired power station comprising two 500 MW units under construction by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut.

The project comprises three 210 MW units and two 500 MW units.[3]
