Background
Line 26 is a 12- and 16-inch diameter crude oil pipeline.[1] The pipeline originally transported Canadian oil south to the USA. In 2011, Enbridge reversed the pipeline to transport Bakken crude from Berthold, North Dakota to its Steelman terminal in Steelman, Saskatchewan, where it links to Cromer, Manitoba, the site of Enbridge’s mainline system.[3][4]
Enbridge's Bakken Expansion Pipeline was approved by the board in December 2011 and began operations in April 2013.[2]
