The mine, also known as the Bangwar Underground Coal Mine Project, is operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India. The mine has a designed capacity 0.650 million-tonnes-per-annum. It is located on an area of 487.806 Ha.[4] The mine has been an operation one and received consent to operate from Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board on 7 December 2014[5]
