The Banki Underground Coal Mine Project is part of the Banki Surakachar coal block of 5040.091 ha combined mining lease area and is located in village Banki, Tehsil Kathgora, District Korba, State Chhattisgarh, India. The project started coal production from 16 January 1963, when there was no pre-requisite for environmental clearance. However, the project received environment clearance on 31 July 2011.[2]
