Background on Mine

The Bellora-Naigaon coal mine is owned by Western Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. This project is an expansion of the already operating project Naigaon OC Expansion project on 398.66 ha, Environment Clearance (EC) for which was granted on 2 February 2009. The new proposal is to expand the area from 398.66 ha to 626.17 ha and a depth of 170 mts. to achieve the peak capacity of 1.25 MTPA. The EC for the expansion was granted on 6 March, 2012.[4]

The mine produce no coal in 2020.
