Background
The Beremend cement factory has a history of decarbonization practices, having been the first cement plant in the country to achieve large scale alternative fuel substitution in place of fossil fuels. Additionally, between 2007-2009 the plant underwent significant modernization to replace both kiln lines in an effort to increase efficiency and reduce environmental footprint.
