Background on Mine

The mine, also known as the Bhadra Underground Coal Mine Project, is operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India. The mine has a capacity 0.40 million-tonnes-per-annum. It is located on an area of 130 Ha. The project has been in operation since 1993-94 with a capacity of 0.18 MTPA based on the consent letter received from the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board under the Air and Water Pollution Control Act.[2]
