Background
In October 2024, NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUNL) signed a Joint Venture (JV) agreement to develop a 3 x 125 MW lignite power station and associated coal mines in Rajasthan. NLCIL held 74% of the JV and RVUNL held 26%.[3][4][5]
In December 2024, the NLC India webpage on “Upcoming Projects” stated that “[p]reliminary activities for the preparation of Feasibility Report are under progress.”[6]
Reporting from January 2025 suggested that the proposed power station would be located in the Bikaner district.[7]
