Background

The project was listed in Shandong Province's medium and long-term oil and natural gas development plan (2016–2030). The first phase was proposed in 2018.

As of March 2022 the last reported news was that the pipeline owners were obtaining permitting/approval documents for eventual construction. Since four years had passed since development on the pipeline was reported, it is presumed to be cancelled.
