Along with Urengoy Oil and Gas Field (Russia), Vostochno-Urengoyskoye (Severo-Yesetinskoye) Oil and Gas Asset (Russia), and Urengoyskoye (Samburgsky block) Oil and Gas Block (Russia), Bolshoi Urengoy Oil and Gas Sub-Basin is a part of the Bolshoi Urengoy complex.

Bolshoi Urengoy Oil and Gas Sub-Basin is also sometimes referred to as Greater Urengoy.
