Background
The Clean Hydrogen Pipeline (CHE) project seeks to build a dedicated hydrogen pipeline from the West coast of Norway (Mongstad/Kollsnes) to northern Germany. The route from the project is derived from the H2inframap, which displays a collection of hydrogen-related projects across Europe.[2]
In September 2023, Shell announced that it was scrapping the project, including a blue hydrogen plant in Norway and the pipeline because it was expensive and there was insufficient demand.[1]
