Background
CPV Shay Clean Energy Center is an approximately 2,060 MW gas-fired combined-cycle power generation facility with carbon capture technology. CPV Shay will have a 54-acre footprint on part of a 230 acre site in Blandville, Doddridge County, West Virginia.[6] In April 2024, the siting certificate for the new plant was approved by the West Virginia Public Service Commission. Construction is to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.[7] According to CPV, it will take three years to build the plant.[6] The plant will deploy three GE HA.03 turbines, each with a high-efficiency secondary cycle steam turbine system.[6][7]
