Background
The company has two units, 12 MW and 6 MW, built in 2006 and 2010.[1] The power station is located in Changtai, Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, China.[2]
The Changtai Industrial Park Cogeneration Power Station was approved in January 2020 to provide both heating and electricity to the Fujian Liansheng Paper Company and Shanying Mill's facilities, as well as to the Changtai County Industrial Zone, where the facilities are located. The total investment of the project was 861.56 million RMB, 257.47 million RMB of which is capital investment (accounting for 30% of the total investment). The rest of the funding was set to be obtained from bank loans.[3] Shanying Mill acquired the Liansheng Paper Company in 2017 for 1.9 billion RMB.[4]
According to a company summary posted on a job board, the Shanying Mill company planned to invest another 1 billion RMB on the project to increase the production capacity, as well as to invest in energy saving and emission reduction projects.[5]
As of June 2022, based on satellite imagery, there was no new construction at the site. However, the project was still referenced in recruitment ads.[6] By 2023, imagery showed signs of construction.
