Chernokaltansky 6,8,9 Coal Mine is a SURFACE mine.

In October 2024, it was reported that the owner Siberian Coal Mining Company JSC was in financial trouble.[4] As per February 2025 news, the coal mine was one of the few in Kuzbass that suspended production for indefinite period due to difficulties in the industry. Coal production in Kuzbass fell by 7% in 2024.[5]
