Background
World’s biggest steelmaker China Baowu and world’s largest iron ore producer Rio Tinto signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 12 June, 2023 to jointly advance specific decarbonisation projects projects in China and Australia, demonstrating their commitment to play a leading role in the industry’s low-carbon transformation. The project involves low-carbon iron production in Western Australia.[1][2][3]
