Background

The power station is part of the China Coal Guangyuan Coal-electricity Integration Project, intending to strengthen the Sichuan provincial electricity supply[6].

The feasibility study of the project was passed in April 2023[7].

On 20 July 2023, Sichuan Province Development and Reform Commission granted the project a permit (川发改能源〔2023〕366号) to build, making it as the first permitted coal-fired power station since the 13th Five-Year-Plan in Sichuan province.[8][9][10][11][12]
