Background

The terminal was proposed in 2018. The local government signed an investment agreement with China Trade Investment Energy Technology Co., Ltd to develop a 3 mpta of receiving capacity LNG terminal in Chuanbi Island. The total investment would be 2 billion yuan. The project was still mentioned in 2019. No further news afterwards. As of January 2023, it is considered shelved.
