Commonwealth Gas Pipeline is a proposed natural gas pipeline. There have been no development updates since 2013 and the project is presumed to be cancelled.

Location

The pipeline runs from Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, to Charles County, Maryland.

Background

In 2013, the pipeline project was suspended due to an inadequate demand in the regional energy market for the project. No pre-filing for FERC had been done prior to the suspension. While the project was under consideration, Chester County Board of Commissioners and State Rep. Tim Hennessey, R-26th of North Coventry, wrote letters to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, asking that the potential harm to the Big Woods be given serious consideration. As of December 2017, There have been no further details on the proposed project.
