Background
The project would be one of the largest cryptocurrency projects in the United States. The facility is proposed to be developed in phases with initial operations to begin in late 2022 and completion expected in 2023.[1] Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman described the project at "one of the largest economic investments in Muskogee history." It involves a partnership between Core Scientific and the Muskogee City-County Port Authority. It is located on the Arkansas River, about 2 miles northwest of the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Muskogee Generating Station, a 1,716 MW coal and gas fired power plant.
