Background
The pipeline system will consist of 4 major routes across Czechai, with parts of the project included within the broader Central European Hydrogen Corridor and the Czech-German Hydrogen Interconnector initatives. However, it is unclear exactly which routes are included as part of these projects in the PCI list, and which are not.[4]
South: (Lanzhot-Waidhaus)
The Southern section of the Czech natural gas transmission system is expected to be converted to be able to carry hydrogen, connecting with Germany and Slovakia at the borders. The pipeline was included in the 6th PCI list with the code 10.2.1.
West: (Brandov-Waidhaus)
The Western section of the Czech natural gas transmission system consists of converted natural gas pipelines, and is part of the Czech-German Hydrogen Interconnector initiative.[5]
North: (Lanzhot-Malesovice)
The Northern section of the transmission system will also consist of converted pipelines.
Breclav-Polish Border:
This segment of the pipeline system will be newly built, and features an additional connection to Poland.[5]
The route from the project is derived from the H2inframap, which displays a collection of hydrogen-related projects across Europe.[1]
