Background
According to the environmental clearance, "Coal linkage has been obtained from SECL. Source of water will be from Sarveshwar and Sarvamangala anicuts."[1]
In 2013, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) cancelled the environmental clearance, stating that the MoEF had violated its own regulations to grant approval to the project, despite a moratorium on further projects in the highly polluted Korba district.[2]
